About the Role:
Reporting to the Regional Manager FNQLD, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of electronic security systems.
Based in Townsville, you will work across a range of customer sites and projects, with opportunities to travel throughout Queensland. This hands-on role suits a technician who enjoys solving problems, working independently in the field and building trusted relationships with customers.
You will be supported by an experienced team and have access to modern systems, tools and technology to help you deliver high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, service and maintain CCTV, access control, intrusion alarm and associated electronic security systems.
- Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics and repairs to ensure systems remain reliable and operational.
- Complete preventative maintenance and scheduled service work to a high standard.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
- Provide professional onsite technical support and advice to customers.
- Complete service reports, commissioning documentation, timesheets and other job-related records accurately.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant Australian Standards, Queensland licensing requirements, site procedures and WHS obligations.
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades, improvements and additional customer solutions.
- Travel throughout Queensland as required to support customer sites and project delivery.
- Represent the business professionally and contribute positively to a strong team culture.
About You:
You are a reliable, safety-conscious technician who takes ownership of your work and delivers a high standard of service every time. You can work autonomously, communicate confidently with customers and remain calm when resolving technical issues in the field.
To be successful, you will bring:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in electronic security, electrical, communications or a related technical field.
- Proven experience installing and servicing CCTV, access control and alarm systems.
- A current Queensland Security Licence.
- Relevant trade qualifications, technical certifications or industry training.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- A customer-first mindset and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- A commitment to safe work practices, quality workmanship and compliance.
- A current driver’s licence.
- The ability and willingness to travel throughout Queensland when required.
- A genuine interest in technology and developing your knowledge of modern security solutions.
