Job Description The Warehouse Newmarket is seeking a friendly and efficient Self Checkout / Checkout Team Member to join our retail team on a permanent part-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service whilst operating both traditional and self-checkout systems. Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner Operate traditional checkout tills and oversee self-checkout areas Process cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently Provide guidance to customers using self-checkout systems Ensure the checkout area is clean, tidy, and well-stocked Handle customer queries and resolve issues promptly Maintain a thorough knowledge of store products and promotions Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak times Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines Hours of work: Fridays & Saturdays - 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm Qualifications Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour Strong cash handling abilities and basic maths skills Proficiency in operating Point of Sale (POS) systems Keen attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 15 kg Previous retail experience, particularly in a checkout role, is desirable but not essential Ability to work well in a team and independently when required Strong communication skills and a positive attitude Additional Information Tā mātou tāpaetanga – What we offer Team Card: Access to discounts across our brands.
