JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a proactive and resilient SEMH Behaviour Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Team Player: Strong collaborative skills and a willingness to support colleagues.
  • Resilience: Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
Responsibilities
  • Provide Direct Support: Work directly with students to address their behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
  • Develop and Implement Strategies: Create and execute individualized behaviour support plans tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to create a consistent and supportive environment.
  • Monitor Progress: Track and assess the effectiveness of behaviour support plans, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Promote Positive Behaviour: Encourage and model positive behaviour, helping students to develop coping and social skills.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly and effectively to behavioural crises, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
