Do you have experience supporting individuals with emotional, behavioural, or additional needs?
The Supply Specialists are looking to recruit several SEMH Teaching Assistants to support in two Crewe SEMH schools.
Our Primary and Secondary sites are both very accessible by car/public transport are looking to arrange trial days asap.
We have part-time and full-time SEMH opportunities available so whether you are looking for something consistent or just an additional income to work around study/another role etc we have the role for you!
About the SEMH Teaching Assistant role:
You’ll be supporting students aged 11–16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Many also present with additional diagnoses such as autism (ASD), ADHD, or behavioural challenges.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support in the classroom
  • Helping students manage their emotions and behaviour
  • Building strong, supportive relationships
  • Promoting progress in learning, confidence, and social development
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff

Ideal candidates for this SEMH Teaching Assistant role:

  • Psychology, criminology, or education graduates looking for hands-on experience in a school setting
  • Care workers, residential support staff, or healthcare assistants who have experience supporting young people who are at risk of
  • Youth workers, sports/activity leaders
  • Individuals with personal or professional experience of SEN, SEMH, or behaviour support

What you will need for this SEMH Teaching Assistant role:

  • Experience working or volunteering with children, young people, or vulnerable adults
  • A proactive nature and understanding of the challenges young people face in 2025
  • Confidence in supporting challenging behaviour (training provided)
  • A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
