We are recruiting on behalf of a SEND secondary school in Theale for a dedicated SEMH teaching assistant to join their team on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday, 8:30 – 4:30, with a 4:00 finish on Fridays).

About the Role:

  • Supporting students with social, emotional, mental health needs.
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups to assist learning and development.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Implementing behaviour strategies and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Building strong relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.
  • Collaborating with staff, parents and external professionals to support student development.

About You:

  • School-based experience working with SEND students (ideally SEMH, but not essential).
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Level 3 qualification in any subject.
  • Patient, adaptable and committed to making a difference.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
