We are hiring on behalf of our client, a welcoming and inclusive nursery setting, who is seeking a caring and committed SEN Support Assistant to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting children with additional needs, whether you’re just starting your career or have some prior experience in an educational or care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day classroom and one-to-one support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, or speech and language delays.
  • Support pupils’ learning and engagement through tailored activities and positive reinforcement.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to implement IEPs and behaviour strategies.
  • Assist with care routines, emotional regulation, and social skills development.
  • Encourage independence and promote inclusive learning environments.
  • Help monitor and record pupil progress for reviews and planning.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Enthusiastic and patient with a genuine interest in supporting children with SEND
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Reliable, adaptable, and willing to learn
  • Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a school, nursery, or SEN-related environment
  • Any relevant training (e.g., autism awareness, safeguarding, Team Teach)
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or Early Years (or working toward one)
