Fresh Start in Education are looking for experienced and person-centred SEN Learning Support Assistants to work on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis with primary-aged children with learning, communication, sensory and personal care needs in their homes or other settings in the Oxford area.
This role involves planning and delivering communication, life skills and basic literacy and numeracy skills sessions in creative, practical and engaging ways on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis. The role will also involve emotional and behavioural support, as well as providing personal care when necessary, supported by another member of staff. Knowledge of Makaton, PECS or Gestalt Language Processing is desirable.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM FRESH START IN EDUCATION :

  • £25–£35 per hour, depending on experience
  • Travel subsidy and £15 per session resource allowance

Responsibilities
  • Providing 1:1 or 2:1 support to children and young people in their homes or educational settings in the Oxford area
  • Planning and delivering learning and engagement activities at Early Years levels, as well as providing communication, emotional and behavioural support
  • Running sessions during the school day (term time only) that typically last 3 to 5 hours
  • Engaging with students who may have autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, GDD or complex needs and helping them achieve outcomes at their pace
