JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in providing high-quality learning experiences for students, particularly those with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, especially those with autism and other disabilities, and will play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.

SKILLS

  • Experience working with people with autism or other disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Strong teaching skills with the ability to engage children in learning activities.
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational or care setting.
  • Knowledge of special education practices is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with toddler care principles is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to the needs of students.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with autism and other disabilities, ensuring their engagement and participation in classroom activities.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour by promoting positive interactions and addressing any challenges that arise.
  • Support students during playtime and transitions between activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers to assess student progress and adapt teaching methods as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organised classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student needs and progress.
