SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT

Contract Type: Long-Term Supply Contract (with potential for a permanent position)
Location: Streatham
Salary: £90-£110 per day

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to support and inspire pupils in a highly inclusive and well-resourced GOOD rated special school in Streatham. This vibrant school caters for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech and Language difficulties, and complex learning needs.
The school is looking for an enthusiastic and resilient teaching assistant who is able to deliver creative, personalised, and differentiated learning to pupils with complex educational and emotional needs. Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You’ll support teachers in delivering personalised learning experiences for pupils with diverse needs. You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure pupils receive consistent and nurturing support throughout their day.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of complex needs.
  • Assist in classroom activities, behaviour support, and personal care when required.
  • Help deliver learning activities based on pupils’ education and therapy plans.
  • Encourage and support pupils in developing communication, social, and life skills.
  • Prepare, maintain, and organise learning materials and classroom resources.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities linked to SEND, safeguarding, and school priorities.
  • Keep accurate records and contribute to planning and progress reviews as part of the wider team.
