  A popular and inclusive junior school in Leytonstone is seeking a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 6 with Type 1 Diabetes, starting in September 2025.

REQUIREMENTS:

We are looking for a candidate who has:

• Diabetes training, including administering insulin and managing blood glucose levels
• Experience in a primary school setting, ideally supporting pupils with additional needs
• A warm, nurturing, and reliable presence in the classroom

The role is offered on a full-time contract basis from September.

THE ROLE

In this role you will be providing support for a child in year 6 (10- 11yrs) who has Type 1 Diabetes.
The child requires support to ensure their medical needs are consistently and safely managed throughout the school day and any medical support is provided correctly. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the child’s well-being and academic progress. The child has a sensitive nature and will benefit from a TA with a calm, caring, and patient approach.
Alongside the medical support, you will be based in the year 6 class and providing support for various children in the class as needed.
