OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support the educational development of students, particularly those with special needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for working with children, especially those with autism and other disabilities. This role involves collaborating closely with teachers to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.

SKILLS

  • Experience working with people with autism or other disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Strong teaching skills with the ability to engage children effectively.
  • Previous experience with children in an educational or care setting is essential.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and principles is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in toddler care, demonstrating patience and understanding of young children’s needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in delivering educational programmes tailored to individual student needs.
  • Support students with autism and other disabilities in their daily activities and learning tasks.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students during lessons, ensuring they understand the material.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents regarding student progress and challenges.
  • Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students requiring special education support.
  • Assist in the care of toddlers when necessary, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain a clean and organised classroom environment conducive to learning.
