EYFS SEND Teaching Assistants & Nursery Nurses

Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week
Axcis Education is working closely with a specialist nursery school in central Coventry, and we are looking for compassionate, proactive SEND Teaching Assistants and Nursery Nurses to support children aged 2–4 years old with additional learning needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing and child-focused setting, offering 1:1 and small group support for children who require early intervention — many of whom are undiagnosed but show clear signs of developmental delay or additional needs.

The Role:

You will:

• Work closely with children aged 2–3 and 3–4 years, supporting them across daily routines, early learning, and play-based activities.
• Provide focused 1:1 and small group support for children with early signs of autism (ASD/ASC), speech and language communication needs (SLCN), and severe learning difficulties (SLD).
• Use visual supports such as PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables to promote understanding and communication.
• Encourage engagement in sensory, physical, and social development activities, tailored to individual needs.
• Assist with personal care, feeding, and toileting as required.
• Work alongside SENCOs, teachers, and therapists to implement early support plans and monitor children’s developmental progress.

About You:

• Experience working with children in early years, especially those with SEND, is highly desirable.
• Understanding of autism, language delay, and early developmental challenges is essential.
• Warm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour and communication.
• Confident using or willing to learn communication tools like Makaton or PECS.
• EYFS qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Childcare, TA qualification, or Early Years Educator) are a bonus, but not required.
