Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs.
- Build a positive, trusting, and consistent relationship with your assigned pupil.
- Act as a calm, patient, and encouraging role model.
- Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and associated behavioural needs.
- Deliver personalised interventions and support EHCP outcomes.
- Encourage emotional regulation, confidence, and positive behaviour strategies.
- Support learning across EYFS, KS1, or KS2 depending on the school’s needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.
- Help pupils develop independence, communication, and social skills both inside and outside the classroom.
About You
To be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will have:
- A minimum of one year’s experience supporting children within a school setting.
- Experience working with pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, or other Special Educational Needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships and become a consistent role model.
- A calm, resilient, and proactive approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Candidates with backgrounds in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, behaviour support, youth offending services, care work, or alternative provisions are also encouraged to apply.
