Are you a supportive and committed individual with a passion for working with children who have special educational needs? A well-established and nurturing primary school in Nottingham is looking to appoint a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting
  • A positive, resilient and calm approach to supporting behaviour and emotional needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and inclusive practices
  • A relevant qualification is beneficial but not essential
Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

This is a full-time position supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 who require additional support to access their learning. You’ll be providing one-to-one and small group interventions, helping children to build confidence, manage their emotions, and make meaningful academic and personal progress. The role may involve supporting children with autism, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver tailored support under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO
  • Implement EHCP strategies and targeted interventions
  • Promote inclusion and ensure pupils feel safe and supported
  • Assist with classroom routines and contribute to a calm, purposeful environment
  • Track and report on pupil development and engagement
