POSITION OVERVIEW:

Looking for something new in September? We need dedicated staff to help boost the educational journey of students in our SEN school in Blackley!
Location: Blackley M9 area
Starting Date: September start
Salary: £106 per day and up depending on experience

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience in care, support work or similar
  • Familiarity with SEND needs and support
  • Ability to motivate and engage pupils through personalised strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong resilience and adaptability in handling challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated academic support to students aged 16–19 in a specialist secondary school for learners with special educational needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to deliver differentiated lessons that are accessible and meaningful for all students.
  • Support students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and moderate to complex learning difficulties.
  • Assist pupils with preparing for adulthood, including support with life skills, employability, and functional literacy and numeracy.
  • Use visual aids, structured routines, and communication systems (e.g., PECS, Makaton) to enhance engagement and independence.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment where learners can build confidence and self-esteem.
