Step Into Teaching is partnering with a fantastic SEN school in Amersham, and they are looking for a caring, approachable, and compassionate graduate to join their team as a Learning Support Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), gain valuable classroom experience, and take your first step toward a teaching career or a path in educational psychology.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

We are looking for a graduate who:

  • Holds a Psychology or SEN degree (2:2 or above) or has strong A-Levels in English, Maths, or Science
  • Is passionate about working with SEN pupils and committed to making a difference in their lives
  • Has a good understanding of the varying needs of pupils in a school environment
  • Can inspire and motivate students who require additional support
  • Is friendly, approachable, creative, and dedicated to supporting student success
  • Previous experience in a similar role (TA/SEN) is advantageous but not essential
Responsibilities
  • Work with individual children or small groups requiring extra help and tailored support, depending on their specific needs
  • Lead small group or 1:1 sessions outside of the classroom
  • Assist in planning and resourcing intervention sessions to support pupil development
  • Collaborate with other professionals to assess and create personalised learning plans, including writing EHCPs
  • Work with teaching staff to design and implement strategies that best support each pupil’s learning needs
