WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

At Spark Academy, we’re on the lookout for dedicated SEN tutor who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners. We are looking for qualified SEN teachers who are excited to provide 1:1 tutoring to children and young people with a range of learning needs. This role is ideal for an Early Years Practitioner who can adopt a holistic, creative, adaptable, and trauma-sensitive approach to teaching. Spark aims to improve the educational support for vulnerable young people across the UK. As a tutor with Spark Academy, you’ll be part of a supportive team, with SEN Support Specialists available to assist you throughout every placement. Responsibilities

ABOUT THE SEN/SEND TUTOR ROLE

As an Early Years SEN/SEND tutor at Spark Academy, you will provide tailored tuition to a age 4 (Reception Age) student residing in and around the Salford area. The tuition will be outdoors in a local park. Tuition MUST take place during school hours between the hours of 09:30 and 16:00. Experience teaching the EYFS curriculum would be necessary. You should also have experience of supporting students with various needs, including SEND, SEMH, MLD, and SLD and some have medical needs. Our students are referred to us by local authorities and schools and require holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring to support their educational and social-emotional journeys.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and Deliver Engaging Sessions: Plan and deliver engaging, holistic sessions tailored to each student’s needs. Lessons will be mostly in-person.
  • Tailor Lesson Plans: Take the stress away with access to a pool of pre-planned lessons that you can personalise to fit each student.
  • Supportive Learning Environment: Foster a supportive learning environment to enhance both academic and social-emotional development.
  • Progress Feedback: Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on student progress.
  • Follow company safeguarding procedures and know and embody that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

  • SLD / MLD Teacher
  • Autism / ADHD Support Teacher
  • Intervention Specialist
