JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and adaptable SEN Homeschool Tutor to deliver personalised, one-to-one education to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their own homes across Warwickshire. This role is ideal for a dedicated educator who thrives on making a direct impact in students’ lives by tailoring learning approaches to meet diverse individual needs outside of a traditional classroom environment.
As a travelling tutor, you will work with learners who may present with a range of SEN profiles, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, anxiety, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Your goal will be to provide a safe, structured, and nurturing learning experience that supports each student’s academic progress and personal development.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience in teaching or tutoring children with moderate/severe learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students achieve their academic goals.
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to stay engaged and focused.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons to children with Moderate/Severe Learning Needs in-line with curriculum and EHCP guidelines.
  • Tailor lesson plans to meet the specific needs and learning styles of the student.
  • Provide academic support in core subjects such as Numeracy, Literacy and Communication.
  • Identify areas where students are struggling and provide targeted support to help them overcome challenges.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to students and parents regularly.
  • Create a positive, encouraging, high-energy learning environment that motivates students to succeed.
  • Collaborate with the tuition centre’s management to ensure consistent teaching standards and follow the centre’s curriculum guidelines.
  • Maintain records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as needed.
