SUMMARY

We are looking for a SENDCo. Admin Assistant. The position will be based at our Kingsland Grange site in Shrewsbury. The successful person may be required to work across the Keys Stages for pupils who have specific learning needs in small nurture groups from aged 5 to 18 years.
The successful candidate will be required to work with the existing SEND Team and:
· Work from SENDCO spreadsheet and under the guidance/direction of the SENDCO to support the smooth running of the Annual review process for Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) for pupils at Kingsland Grange.
· Develop a good understanding of the EHCP, understanding the relevance and purpose of all of the Sections A-K
· Develop a good understanding of the AR process and associated procedure for each LA that we work with, including: paperwork, processes, statutory requirements, timescales and responsibilities and good practice.
· Gain familiarity with the relevant content of the SEND Code of practice.
In preparation for an annual review (AR) of an EHCP:
· Understand and use the SENDCO Spreadsheet, to know when ARs are due and, in partnership with SENDCO, ensure and monitor the AR plan for the year so that all ARs are scheduled accordingly, in order to meet statutory deadline and transfer review deadlines.
· Liaise with, invite and inform relevant parties such as pupils, staff, parents, other agencies and other professionals,
· Issue correct paperwork to relevant parties and gather information in a timely manner for ARs.
· Identify what professional reports need to be collated
· Be aware that there are personal differences as well as statutory requirements and good practice, and that there is not a one-size fits all for information gathering and sharing with our families and parents/carers.
· Set up electronic folders for ARs – correctly named and stored in the right place.
· Chase confirmation of attendance to the AR-meeting, reports, information and paperwork
· Collate information in AR folder
· Keep the SENDCO informed of any issues that arise in the gathering of information
· Alert the SENDCO to documentation that is ready for them to view / work on.
· Generate the draft AR -report
· Share information gathered in a timely manner with relevant parties such as pupils, staff, parents, SEN Team case officer and other agencies
· In agreement with the SENDCO identify whether you are to attend the AR-meeting and note-take
· Provide the necessary information/communication support to the SENDCO following the AR-meeting to complete and gain the signed off final report.
· In partnership with the SENDCO ensure that an annotated EHCP is prepared where required (where the recommended AR outcome is to maintain with amendments).
· In partnership with the SENDCO ensure that the final AR-report and annotated EHCP and associated professionals reports are submitted to the SEN Team and shared with all relevant parties within statutory deadline.
· Ensure that Actions from ARs are shared with person responsible for completion of the Action.
· Maintain the SENDCO Spreadsheet, including recording of:
· Recommended Outcome of AR
· Actions from AR
· Professionals and outside agency involvement at the time of the AR
· Date of Submission of the final AR documentation
· timing for next annual review.
· Update the school Management Information System MIS (Arbor) from the SENDCO spreadsheet
· Monitor completion of actions and feedback any issues to the SENDCO.
Candidates with previous experience working with SENCo admin tasks would be an advantage. However, excellent communication, administrative and ICT skills are essential.
Our pupils have a range of challenges from moderate learning difficulties to social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and may present challenging behaviours.
