Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE: SEND / LLDD FUNCTIONAL SKILLS MATHS TEACHER

We are looking for an enthusiastic, inspiring Functional Skills Maths teacher to join our Lifeskills faculty at Reading College. Our team supports learners who face barriers to education, including young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

In this role you will spend most of your timetable delivering Functional Skills Maths (Pre-Entry to GCSE) across two key programmes:

  • Tier 3 Work Preparation - supports learners with EHCPs to build employability skills and undertake external work placements.
  • Tier 2 Skills for Living - helps learners with moderate-to-severe learning difficulties develop life skills, independence and personal development.

Both programmes include English and Maths, so you will also contribute to wider Lifeskills sessions when required.
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive, committed to helping learners build confidence, independence and the skills they need for adulthood.
The post is permanent, full-time and based at our Reading College campus.
