WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR A SEND OFFICER TO SUPPORT OUR SENDCO AND WORK WITH OUR CHIEF COMPLIANCE OFFICER TO SUPPORT THE OVERALL SCHOOL EXPERIENCE FOR OUR SEND STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
Our Education provision is a DfE registered Independent School working with KS3 & 4 students who have a variety of needs and will potentially be re-engaging back into a mainstream education setting.
We want to hear from applicants who want to work in a small alternative school setting and enjoy being part of an active education team.
A full job description will be sent out with the application pack which will provide additional information. As a brief overview the role will include;
As SEND Officer you will support the fulfilment of the school’s responsibilities in relation to Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans and reviews and help us to achieve the golden thread throughout all documentation and provision in school to ensure young people can fulfil their potential.
Your responsibilities will include responding to consultations from the Local Authority within statutory time frames and ensuring all paperwork involved with new students starting school is received and completed, liaising with parents and carers, previous settings, along with all other relevant stakeholders. You will support with student site visits and assist in getting young people settled with inductions.
Within the role you will also be responsible for processing pupil data across relevant systems as requested, such as admissions, leavers & census
As part of your role, you will assist in managing all stages of the EHCP process for all learners across our provision and maintain student files and records to ensure compliance with key local and national policies (SEND Code of Practice 2015).
