Are you a university graduate with a passion for education, looking to gain valuable long-term classroom experience before pursuing a career in the field?
Step Into Teaching is working in partnership with a Secondary school in Salford to place enthusiastic and committed graduates into roles within SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) departments—offering a meaningful first step into a rewarding career in education.

Responsibilities
  • Classroom support. Assisting the teacher and students in the lesson when needed and being proactive (ensuring they are always doing something).
  • Doing duty when needed (before school, break and after school). This is a rota system.
  • Admin duties relating to the department and could include making resources, prepping lessons, filing etc.
  • Supporting with enrichment
  • 1:1 work with pupils who have additional needs

    We are a pre teacher training program that is created to support and empower graduates, like yourself, to take your first steps into the Education Industry. We will typically provide you with one years’ worth of hands-on school-based experience, this provides a fundamental foundation for a long – lasting successful career in teaching. Educational psychology or counselling. This will not only give you the opportunity to qualify you for teacher training but also a insight if a teaching career is for you.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Hold a completed bachelor’s degree (minimum 2:2)
  • Openness to learn new things and help others
  • Comfortable with providing support to a range of individuals
  • Able to build positive relationships with people from a range of backgrounds
  • An empathetic and passionate individual with a ‘can do’ mindset
  • Have a good knowledge or experience in working with children who have a variety of different needs (preferred)
