BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT / SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT – NOTTINGHAM (KS2 FOCUS)

Are you an experienced SEN or Behaviour Support professional looking for a new opportunity this September 2025? The Supply Room is working in partnership with several inclusive and supportive primary schools across Nottingham, who are seeking proactive 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils in Key Stage 2 with additional behavioural and special educational needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a primary education or behaviour support setting (essential).
  • Familiarity with Key Stage 2 curriculum and expectations.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and understanding of trauma-informed approaches.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities

This role involves supporting a child in KS2 who may face barriers to learning due to emotional, behavioural or developmental challenges. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure the child remains engaged in learning, feels supported, and makes consistent progress throughout the term.

Duties will include:

  • Delivering tailored support and encouragement to a pupil on a 1:1 basis.
  • Monitoring and supporting behaviour through established behaviour plans.
  • Assisting with differentiated class activities and interventions.
  • Encouraging self-esteem, resilience and independence in the pupil.
  • Liaising with SENCOs, therapists and external professionals where required.
