SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT – COMPLEX MEDICAL NEEDS (CHADWELL HEATH/GOODMAYES)

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a background in supporting pupils with complex medical needs? An exceptional SEND school near Chadwell Heath/Goodmayes is looking for a dedicated and skilled practitioner to join their team immediately.
The school caters for children with a wide range of additional needs and requires staff who are calm, resilient, and confident working in a specialised environment. This is a highly rewarding role where you’ll be making a real difference to the daily lives of pupils who need close support and care.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting pupils with complex medical needs in the classroom and across the school day
  • Assisting with medical care plans, feeding, mobility, and personal care where required
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and medical professionals to ensure pupils’ health and safety are prioritised
  • Creating a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment where pupils can thrive

The school is looking for candidates with:

  • Prior experience working in a special school environment, specifically with pupils with complex medical needs
  • Confidence in carrying out personal care, moving & handling, or administering feeds (training can be provided if needed)
  • A patient, caring, and proactive attitude, with the resilience to support pupils with significant needs
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, able to liaise with staff, parents, and professionals effectively

This role would suit someone who has previously worked in a special school or medical setting, and who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs to access education in a safe and meaningful way.
