The school are looking for a highly skilled SEND TA with experience of working with highly complex A.S.D./SEMH pupils. You will be supporting them developing their day to day and academic skills as well as their social emotional needs, in preparation for their transition to secondary education. You will have a timetable to provide interventions and cover classes across the school. As part of your role the school would ideally like to complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities both in and out of school, under an agreed system of supervision that supports the teacher with learning outcomes.
Due to the nature of this role, the school are looking for Teaching Assistants with previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH or complex emotional and behavioural needs. Experience working with students with Autism and non-verbal students would be preferable. Restraint training such as PRICE or de-escalation training is desirable, however, not essential; as PRICE training will be provided.
