Salary: £97.68 – £188.34 per day (depending on role and experience)

Key Responsibilities of a SEND Teaching Assistant

  • Provide 1:1 support and small group learning for pupils with a variety of SEND.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver personalised learning and EHC plans.
  • Adapt resources and activities to ensure inclusive and engaging learning.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils’ emotional well-being.
  • Participate in wider school life, including enrichment activities and team meetings.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications: Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or SEND training (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience: Previous work as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), SEN Teaching Assistant, or similar role.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, patience, empathy, and adaptability.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with PECS, Makaton, sensory strategies, or behaviour support is beneficial but not required.
  • Attributes: Committed, enthusiastic, and passionate about inclusive education.
