The Veritas Residency Program exists to give recent college graduates an authentic, full-time ministry experience that integrates theological development, discipleship, and hands-on ministry alongside a staff team. Residents grow as disciples, learn to live as everyday missionaries, and develop a healthy, compelling vision for the local church and global mission. The Sending / Missions Resident plays a key role in cultivating a culture of mission at Veritas Church by mobilizing members toward local and global engagement, strengthening international welcoming ministry, and supporting the systems and initiatives that equip Veritas to be a sending church. Essential Job Functions The Sending / Missions Resident focuses on mobilization, cross-cultural discipleship, relational ministry, and departmental support. Responsibilities include: Mobilizing Everyday Missionaries Invite and mobilize Veritas members and Salt students to engage with the lost and the unreached peoples on campus, in the community, and globally. Help coordinate mission trips, vision trips, and cross-cultural training opportunities. Support the recruitment, assessment, sending, and care of global workers and church planters. International Student & Community Engagement Equip members of Veritas to engage unreached peoples on campus and in the community, building gospel-centered relationships. Disciple international students and college-aged leaders who participate in Family Group (international welcoming ministry). Facilitate cross-cultural Bible studies, book studies, and discussion groups. Coach volunteers and leaders before and after cross-cultural conversations. Mission Awareness & Education Help plan and prepare monthly Global Prayer gatherings. Assist in developing and refining classes, workshops, and resources that equip members to live as globally engaged Christians. Contribute to preparing materials for mobilization classes and mission-equipping environments. Operational & Department Support Assist with planning, preparing, and promoting Family Group or community events. Help develop or update leader equipping materials, training modules, and mission resources. Participate in staff and departmental meetings, supporting administrative needs as assigned. Support communication efforts related to mission updates, global workers, and sending pathways. Mobilize church members to participate with local or global strategic partners. Qualifications Required Skills and Abilities A growing biblical theology that informs a healthy vision for cross-cultural evangelism and discipleship. Demonstrated love for Jesus, the gospel, and the mission of making disciples of all nations. Confidence or willingness to grow in teaching, small-group leadership, and large-group communication. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree (or upcoming graduation) is referred but not required. Prior ministry or cross-cultural experience is preferred but not required. Residency Program Expectations Residents can expect: 40-hour per week commitment from mid/late May through April 30 of the following year. Integration into staff culture, including all-staff meetings and events. Assigned theological readings and group discussions to support spiritual and ministry growth. Potential participation in a weekly teacher meeting to develop preaching/teaching skills. Work within the Sending Department as a core team member.
Responsibilities
