Job Description
The Sr Account Executive of National Accounts is primarily responsible for the development and ownership of the company’s sales and gross profit to National retailers. Some examples of National retailers include Dillards, Nordstrom, and Saks. The Sr Account Executive must execute strategies consistent with the company strategy of Wholesale driving 15%+ of the company’s net sales.
A day in the life…

Ownership and execution of National Account Portfolio with goal of achieving financial results thru selling product
- Develop and achieve annual Net Sales and Operating Income projections for National Accounts, consistent with the approved operating and capital budgets.
- Partner with Director of Wholesale to set strategy and identify the initiatives. Identify and set annual and seasonal account-by-account targets for bookings, retail sales, weekly sell-through, and gross margin. Anticipate reorders and bookings, especially where there is upside and where we may fall short, and communicate during projections and financial planning
- Help develop seasonal and annual promotional plans that ensure the consumers’ experience is consistent with the Company’s overall positioning
- Manage and own National market with the Wholesale team using Joor, Nuorder and, Tradeshow prep and B2B selling tools
- The individual must be a leader on the team on reporting (Looker) and sharing analysis regarding Nationals. They must demonstrate a deep understanding of their business and partner with the Director of Wholesale for a long-term vision for their business channel. The Sr Account Executive of National Accounts must have a firm handle on the performance of the total National portfolio as it relates to financial targets, and they must be able to clearly communicate and articulate the status at any given time. The individual must confidently and accurately contribute to shipping projections and financial reforecasts.
Balance existing Account relationships while also driving new business
- The Sr Account Executive must have strong relationships with their accounts. They must manage their portfolio through strong communication, gathering product information and selling information. It is the Sr Account Executive ’s responsibility to monitor, communicate and propose solutions to their manager about account growth and challenges.
- Build strong relationships with buying partners at various management/departments while selling the Brand
- The Sr Account Executive must have a strong market knowledge of the National landscape and identify where Lilly Pulitzer has future growth opportunities. Capitalize on the opportunity!
- Work to provide insight on strategy for how we will distribute products to consumers through National Accounts. This includes understanding the consumer, the market, the landscape of National Accounts and the market, innovations in the space, the context in which we operate, as well as the key success factors and competitive advantages.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with Director of Wholesale on new door and market opportunities. While the Director of Wholesale will own final decision making, the Sr Account Executive must be creative in their thinking of opportunities and ideas.
Travel to key stores is critical to executing the strategy, developing relationships, and evaluating the results
Provide relevant input on Product Development and Communications development to support Wholesale
Ideate and create new marketing opportunities that drive additional business within Nationals. Build internal cross development relationships and bring in marketing and content support as needed.
- Provide thoughtful, quantitative, and qualitative input that evolves the development of product to support the Wholesale business
- The Sr Account Executive will need to manage and execute operational tasks to support their portfolio, as needed. This includes and is not limited to management of an operations associate, Joor/NuOrder linesheet creation, orderstatus@ support, returns, swaps, partnering with Oxford Credit, and order management through our ERP. The role equally will need to provide information for Shipping Projections.
- It is the Sr Account Executive ’s responsibility to see the opportunity for improvement. The Sr Account Executive must call out, develop and roll out operational efficiencies and sales processes.

Qualifications for the Position
- A four-year college degree is required, preferably with a major/minor within fashion apparel management.
- 4-7 years of buying, retail or wholesale experience, preferably in the fashion or retail industry.
- The Sr Account Executive of Nationals will have extensive knowledge, genuine excitement and appreciation for the Lilly Pulitzer brand and for the retail environment.
- The Sr Account Executive of Nationals will require strong analytical skills, in-store merchandising expertise, and an ability to communicate well, verbally and in writing, with each door.
- The Sr Account Executive of Nationals will need to know from a fashion and aesthetic standpoint why merchandise sells or doesn’t sell, and must be comfortable with quantitative analysis of selling, assortment, planning and gross profit.
- The Sr Account Executive of Nationals will find the balance of needs between Sugartown Worldwide and his/her accounts.
- The Sr Account Executive of Nationals will need strong people skills. These include the ability to work effectively and credibly with senior colleagues and accounts, and the ability to motivate and inspire loyalty among staff.
- The Sr Account Executive ’s management skills must be able to thrive in a hybrid work/remote environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

- This position is classified as full-time salaried; it is exempt and is not eligible for overtime. This position is eligible for standard company benefits.
- This position is remote based, with some travel required to our home office in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Atlanta GA, Palm Beach FL, and our showroom in New York, New York. Travel needs will be determined by your supervisor.
- The position requires 20-30% of domestic travel.
- Given the seasonality of the business, this position may require flexible, additional working hours during peak periods.
- This position is expected to collaborate effectively with other individuals in alignment with our Core Values and Core Leadership Qualities.
