About Tempo Co

Tempo Co was founded with a clear vision: to provide structured, managed virtual assistant and marketing support for growing Australian businesses that have outgrown doing everything themselves.

We connect our clients with skilled virtual assistants (VAs) - dedicated remote team members who work directly within a client's business, across a wide range of functions. And for clients who'd rather not run marketing in-house at all, our managed marketing service gives them access to world-class marketing professionals who take on the thinking and the doing, from strategy through to execution.Since launching, Tempo Co has grown steadily through strong client outcomes, high retention, and a focus on combining offshore execution with Australian oversight.

With continued growth projected and demand increasing, Tempo Co is entering its next stage - building toward a future where our clients get more than reliable support, they get a strategic partner. Our managed marketing service is a deliberately growing part of that vision. This role exists to bring that vision to life: ensuring clients experience senior, relationship-led support, and strong marketing experience in every interaction with Tempo Co.

About the Role

As a Senior Account Manager at Tempo Co, you're central to that next stage. You'll be the senior, trusted relationship contact for clients - the person who makes sure they experience the calibre of support we've built Tempo Co to deliver. At its core, this role is about understanding what each client needs and leading the execution that gets them there - building strong relationships as the foundation for delivering real outcomes. For clients on our managed marketing service, you'll work alongside our marketing team to solve their marketing needs - whether that's developing a strategy and overseeing its execution, or simply taking over execution of an existing plan. For clients who've come to us looking for a VA, you'll lead the process - from understanding exactly what they need, translating that into a clear brief for our recruitment team, and staying close through sourcing, interviews, and the VA's first weeks on the job. You're backed by a strong team - our recruitment team sourcing and vetting VAs, our VA Team Managers who support the daily operations of the VA workforce and client account management, and our cross-functional marketing team bringing our managed marketing services to life - so you're never carrying delivery alone. Your focus is on driving outcomes for your clients: understanding what they need, earning their trust, and leading the work that gets them results.

You'll report to our Managing Director, and join a small, senior team helping shape Tempo Co's next stage of growth.

Core Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship ManagementBe the senior, trusted point of contact for a group of key clients, managing the relationship end-to-end
  • Proactively check in on client satisfaction and account health, spotting opportunities to deepen the relationship or expand the engagement
  • Lead new business conversations for existing clients looking to grow their engagement with Tempo Co - scoping needs and recommending the right solution
  • Handle client conversations that need a senior, confident presence - renewals, account changes, or a tricky moment in delivery
  • Keep the Managing Director informed on client outcomes, sentiment, and opportunities for growth

  • Marketing ServicesLead discovery with managed marketing clients to understand their goals, audience, and competitive landscape
  • Develop marketing strategy and recommendations, working alongside the marketing team to shape the right plan for each client
  • Pitch and present strategy and campaign ideas confidently to clients, bringing them along on the thinking
  • Oversee content production, working with the marketing team to ensure output reflects the agreed strategy and brand
  • Manage content delivery and scheduling, making sure campaigns land on time and as planned
  • Track performance and share insights, proactively bringing clients results, recommendations, and next steps rather than waiting to be asked

  • VA PlacementLead the client conversation from the very first discovery call, understanding exactly what kind of support they need
  • Translate that into a clear, well-scoped brief - working in partnership with the recruitment team, who own sourcing and vetting the right candidates
  • Stay close to the client through the process, including introductions and the VA's first weeks, alongside the VA Team Managers who take on ongoing account support
  • Make sure the client feels confident and well-guided at every step, even though the technical sourcing work sits with the specialist team

About YouWe're looking for someone who is commercially confident, relationship-led, and brings a marketing professional's instincts to how they think and work. You're comfortable holding senior client conversations without needing to overcomplicate them, and you know how to lead a plan through to results.

  • You will likely have:Senior experience in client management, account management, or a similar relationship-led role within an agency or client-services environment
  • A marketing background, with a genuine instinct for strategy - not just execution - with experience across a range of marketing channels (social media being a key one)
  • Comfortable overseeing creative work, making sure it's executed to a high standard and reflects what the client actually needs
  • A track record you can point to - a portfolio of marketing work, strategies, or campaigns you've led
  • Comfortable building clear, polished presentations and reports, and confident presenting them to clients
  • A strong commercial mindset, with the ability to scope client needs and identify opportunities to grow the relationship
  • Executive presence and credibility when speaking with business owners and decision-makers
  • A relationship-focused approach, with the confidence to hold boundaries and have the harder conversations when needed
  • The ability to work autonomously and part-time, while staying aligned to Tempo Co's direction
  • Full Australian work rights

This role would suit someone looking for a part-time, senior-level engagement rather than full-time - perhaps balancing family or caregiving commitments, or running their own business or portfolio career, who wants meaningful, senior client work without giving up flexibility.
