REIMAGINE WHAT’S POSSIBLE

We are seeking an experienced Sales Account Representative to represent the Sacramento Valley and Northern Nevada territory. The customer mix includes oil/gas refining, chemicals processing and metals fabrication for our manufacturing facilities.
Our products include industrial gases, liquid nitrogen, oxygen, argon, hydrogen, Helium, and related products. Our applications and equipment support customers in the manufacturing, foods packaging, chemicals, laboratories, aerospace, semiconductor, and oil/gas refining sectors. The territory consists of the Sacramento Valley and areas south to Modesto, CA. The region extends east into Northern Nevada along the I-80 corridor.
This is a residence-based position, and the candidate can live in the greater Sacramento area or in Northern Nevada.
You must be highly motivated with a strong background in prospecting, negotiating and verbal/written communication.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • 3-4 years of successfully demonstrated sales experience and portfolio management is required.
  • A strong understanding of business risks and opportunities.
  • Portfolio Management and Contracts Negotiations.
  • Effective verbal and written communication are a must; the candidate should be comfortable presenting at an executive level.
  • Ability to lead all facets of the sales process including but not limited to;
  • Prospecting
  • Preparing/Presenting Proposals and Contracts
  • Negotiating

MINIMUM HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • A college degree, preferably in business or engineering, is preferred but is not required.
  • In lieu of a degree, we will consider equivalent work experience coupled with a strong technical aptitude.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • 3-4 years of successfully demonstrated sales experience and portfolio management is required.
  • Customer-facing Engineering or Operations experience is required.
  • Industrial gas experience is preferred but is not required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Flexibility to travel is required.
    In California, the anticipated pay range is $98,565 - $123,205 plus bonus. It’s important to note that individual compensation packages are determined based on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to experience, and qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Existing Customer Account Management - Managing Customer Relationships, Customer Value Creation, Wallet Share Growth, Profit Management.
  • New Business Development - Selling suite of industrial gas products, Equipment and Services to amenable Market, including New to Market and Competitive Account Prospects.
  • Territory coverage is mostly local; some overnight travel may be required.
  • A strong emphasis on prospecting including a high rate of call activity and prompt Direct Marketing follow-up.
  • Establish a network of referrals to develop opportunity pipeline growth.
  • Utilize contracts and relationships to maximize operating income expansion opportunity within customer portfolio. An Understanding of contractual language is required.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospects and customers.
  • Utilize P&L and maintain CRM tools.
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders including Inside Sales, Strategic Account Managers, Business Managers, Commercial Director, Commercial Technology (Central and Field), Asset Management, Onsite Business Development, Engineering, Logistics, Marketing and Operations.
  • Follow industry trends related to products and services within territory activities.
  • Support Air Products’ marketing efforts, such as seminars and trade show demonstrations.
