Description

Our Client is the largest rural internet service provider in Canada. They are in search of a Senior Accountant to join them for a 3-month contract. The role is in office full time located in Markham.

Key responsibilities of this Senior Accountant role:

  • Responsible for monitoring daily cash position and initiate fund transfer between bank accounts and ensure all bank accounts are in a positive cash position
  • Create daily Cash Position Summary to be delivered to senior Management
  • Responsible for monthly journal entries and balance sheet and bank reconciliations
  • Working on accounting for prepaid expenses ensuring prepaid and amortization schedules are updated
  • Initiate wire transfers when requested by Accounts Payable or Management
  • Responsible for monthly sales tax and 911 tax filings and remittances to government, reconciliation of tax entries, and assisting with sales tax or 911 tax audits
  • Responsible for company insurance policy administration i.e. maintaining accurate records for property and fleet policies, communication with insurance broker for claims, request for insurance certificate and compiling data for insurance policy renewal
  • Prepare USD FX Analysis for opex and capex on a monthly basis to analyze the variance compared to the budget
  • Other accounting responsibilities as assigned by Senior Accounting Manager
