We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team, playing a key role in ensuring the financial accuracy and integrity of our operations. This position goes beyond standard accounting duties, involving intercompany transactions and the preparation of financial statements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• You have at least 5 years of experience in an accounting role, with proven experience in preparing financial statements
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP is essential.
• Proven experience with intercompany reconciliations and period-end close processes.
• Excellent working knowledge of Dutch and European VAT regulations and demonstrated experience with submitting VAT and ICP declarations is preferred.
• Basic understanding of payroll journal entries.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Query are crucial for data analyses & management
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Werklocatie: Hybride werken in 4817 Bred

In this role, you’ll manage a range of accounting tasks, including:

• Monthly & Yearly Closures: Lead and execute the monthly and yearly financial close processes, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and all financial data is accurately compiled.
• Invoice Approval: Review and approve incoming purchase invoices in the accounting software. This includes checking for accuracy in General Ledger (GL) codes, VAT settings, supplier information, and ensuring they are properly documented before approval.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and properly documented.
• Payroll & Journal Entries: Post and analyze payroll journal entries.
• VAT & ICP Declarations: Be responsible for the full process of preparing and submitting Dutch VAT (btw) and ICP (intracommunautaire prestaties) declarations. Be the first point of contact for foreign VAT consultants and provide the financial information to them for preparation and submition of the VAT returns. This includes ensuring all transactions are correctly classified and declared in compliance with Dutch and EU tax regulations.
• Data Management & Analysis: Handle large volumes of data to prepare turnover journals. Use Power Query to efficiently extract, transform, and load data, and leverage PivotTables in Excel for analysis and summarization.
• Intercompany Reconciliations: Reconcile all intercompany accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain clear, accurate records of all transactions between our various entities.
• Audit Support: Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Annual Accounts Preparation (Dutch GAAP): Prepare the annual financial accounts in accordance with Dutch Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Dutch GAAP), ensuring compliance with all local regulations.
