Job Description
Acciona is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this specialized role, you will report directly to the Group Financial Controller and take charge of essential finance tasks that ensure the highest standards of financial control, compliance, and reporting across the ACCIONA Infrastructure
Asia Pacific group.
Your role will involve regular interaction with divisional Finance Managers and collaboration with the Acciona Corporate Finance team in Spain. Your dedication to financial accounting and ability to coordinate across the group’s finance operations will be pivotal to your success in this challenging and rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit Coordination and Project Management: Act as the primary contact for external financial auditors, facilitating a smooth group audit process with our listed parent entity. Ensure compliance with statutory reporting obligations for individual entities and the Australian consolidated group.
- Financial Statements Preparation: Supervise the preparation of financial statements, manage appropriate disclosures, and oversee the adoption and transition to new accounting standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Finance Director and the Financial Group Controller to establish and control global accounting procedures.
- Policy Harmonization: Standardize and document clear accounting policies and instructions across the Australian group.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with the annual budget and ongoing company forecasting.
- Accounting Decisions and IFRS Interpretation: Guide company accounting decisions and optimize accounting practices through IFRS interpretation.
- Internal Reporting: Generate and monitor internal reports to support decision-making processes.
- Covenant Reporting: Monitor covenant reports for all group entities regularly.
- International Reporting: Contribute to monthly reporting for our international head office.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities consistent with your qualifications and expertise.
Key Result Areas:
- Foster and maintain effective relationships with Finance & Commercial Managers, Tax, Treasury, Global Group Finance, Shared Service Department Heads, Executive Management, and Project Teams
Required Skills and Competencies
Experience/Qualifications:
- CA/CPA or equivalent certification.
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting firm, preferably within the Big Four.
