Description Job Title: Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager Location: Omaha, NE Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer Position Overview 88 Tactical is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accounting professional to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of our organization. This hands-on role is responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring the integrity of the company's financial processes. Reporting directly to the COO, the Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager serves as the primary accounting resource for the organization and plays a key role in supporting efficient business operations through accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and proactive problem-solving. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports for leadership. Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records. Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Monitor cash flow, cash activity, and overall financial performance of the organization. Prepare and file sales tax returns and other required regulatory filings. Maintain fixed asset records and related accounting documentation. Support the organization's relationships with external auditors, tax professionals, and financial institutions by providing requested financial information and documentation. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, account variances, and reporting issues. Develop, maintain, and improve accounting procedures and internal controls to support operational efficiency and financial accuracy. Serve as a key financial resource to leadership by providing reporting, analysis, and recommendations to support business decisions. Maintain confidentiality of financial information and company records. Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
