Description
As the Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the daily and monthly operational accounting duties, including fixed assets, accruals, prepaids and other assets.   Key Responsibilities: Applies principles of finance and accounting to various accounting duties related to the Business Unit's financial and operational planning and reporting as directed by the Controller. Assist with the maintenance of the business unit’s internal financial processes and internal controls (SOX). Duties include the ability to develop system driven reports as well as the ability to analyze and interpret the resulting data.  Prepare recurring monthly journal entries related. Assist in analysis of product costs, overhead absorption, abnormal fixed cost expenditures, etc. Daily interface with manufacturing personnel and production planners. Assist planning and scheduling to improve inventory controls and internal programs. Assists with collections as needed Performs all balance sheet recons to a high degree of accuracy, explaining any variances Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university  Minimum Years of Work Experience: at least three years related experience and/or training in all aspects of accounting and well versed in issues encountered by Controllers Knowledge/Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interests, commission proportions, and percentages. Must be proficient in MS Excel and Word, ERP/MRP system. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Past experience should demonstrate the ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced ever-changing work environment. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
