The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL), one of New England’s leading animal welfare organizations, is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our organization. What you will do: The person in this role must * Get it: understand GAAP, the close cycle, payroll mechanics, and how the pieces of a non-profit's books fit together. * Want it: genuinely enjoy reconciliation work, audit prep, and the rhythm of the monthly close with a desire to own the GL. * Have it: possess the technical skill and professional capacity needed to deliver a clean, on-time close each month.

Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the general ledger and ensuring a clean, on-time monthly close. Key duties include performing reconciliations, managing payroll mechanics, and preparing for audits.
