Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance within the construction industry and demonstrate deep knowledge of UAE financial regulations, VAT laws, and project-based accounting. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing the company’s financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or ACCA certification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 -15 years of accounting experience in the UAE
  • Strong knowledge of UAE accounting standards, VAT laws, and IFRS.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, ERP systems, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and project cost reports.
  • Handle project-based accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring project expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and timely submission of VAT returns.
  • Coordinate with auditors for annual external audits and ensure proper documentation.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, bank transactions, and fund allocations for projects.
  • Liaise with project managers, procurement, and site teams to ensure accurate financial tracking.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies in line with IFRS.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for cost control and profit maximization.
  • Support the Finance Manager or CFO in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
