Description

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Apollo Scooters is a North American manufacturer and distributor of electric scooters with a mission to create a world for people, not cars. We do this by making getting places cheaper, more environmentally friendly, and enjoyable. We are a small, dynamic team with big ambitions that has become a market leader within just a few years. We are absolutely obsessed with our products and customers, and we’re only getting started. If you are looking for a company at the cutting edge of innovation, in an industry on the verge of a breakout, with a work-hard/play-hard environment and hands-on learning, you’ve found the right place.

JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with at least 5 years of experience to take ownership of our accounting operations and compliance requirements across multiple entities. This role will be the primary point of contact for all government and compliance matters, including the CRA, Revenue Quebec, and U.S.-based revenue departments.
You will oversee the integrity of our financial records, ensure timely compliance filings, and support decision-making by delivering accurate, insightful reporting. This role reports directly to our CFO, who is based overseas, so strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
If you’re a detail-oriented, proactive accounting professional with strong technical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, this is the role for you.

REQUIREMENTS

  • CPA designation (or in the final stages of completion)
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. tax compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience managing the month-end/year-end close for multiple entities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams across multiple locations and time zones, as well as external stakeholders such as auditors, tax authorities, and suppliers.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Experience in e-commerce or inventory-based businesses is an asset
  • Public accounting experience is considered an asset
