Our Surrey based client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis.
Competitive Salary ranging from $80,000 - $100,000
The Senior Accountant will oversee the organization’s day-to-day financial activities, including maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for full cycle accounting for all corporate entities
  • Monthly maintenance of general ledger, including review and preparation of journal entries relating to operating expense accruals, amortization of capital assets and revenue accruals.
  • Prepare year-end working paper files for external audit
  • Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash balances
  • File monthly, quarterly and annuals sales tax returns in Canada and the US
  • Review monthly mortgage reconciliations
  • Coordinate with engaged US and CDN accounting firms to ensure all tax deadlines are met
  • Review all payables to ensure processing is complete before release
  • Perform other responsibilities as required

Successful Candidate:

  • 5-8+ years hands on accounting experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced user of MS Excel and Sage50
