Position Reporting to the President of Aspen Distribution, the Senior Accountant will manage effective and streamlined administrative/financial systems, including financial, accounting and key infrastructure. As a member of the senior management team, the Senior Accountant will be a key leader in driving strategic planning, evaluation, and professional development initiatives, as well as planning any expansion or new client opportunities. Specific responsibilities include: Financial Management Review and approve preparation and finalization of weekly, monthly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics for the Aspen Board of Directors. Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow for administration, existing programs/clients, and proposed new clients. Manage various accounting functions; hire, manage and retain support staff as needed today and in the future. Drive and coordinate all audit activities. Serve as the key business partner to the President on the organization’s financial, budgeting, and administrative processes–including sales forecasting, management of daily accounts receivable/payable, financial strategies to improve profitability, streamline expenses/productivity measures –with an eye to continuously developing and improving people, HR processes and systems. Qualifications The Senior Accountant will have at least five to eight years of professional experience, including managing the finance and administration of a well run company. S/he will have experience creating and driving the analytic framework for planning and managing financial strategies, execution and all accounting responsibilities in a high paced environment. The Senior Accountant will have the following experience and attributes: Bachelor’s degree (MA/MBA preferred) in Business, Management, or Finance. Appropriate accounting certifications. Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team. Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, for a small to medium sized business. Experience should include financial analysis, budget, and resource development. Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the Aspen Distribution values. Persons with warehouse, distribution and trucking industry experience will have preference for this position. Compensation $65,000-$75,000 DOE with vacation, discretionary bonus, health, dental and life insurance.
