JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our client’s finance team. This role is responsible for supporting core accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proven financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, large datasets).
  • Minimum of4 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior-level role.
  • Experience working in amid-size to large organization, preferably in a complex or multi-entity environment.
  • Familiarity withERP systemssuch as Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Understanding of internal controls and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA designation (or in final stages of completion).
  • Experience with intercompany transactions and consolidations.
  • Exposure to public company reporting standards.
  • Knowledge of IFRS is an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and record complex journal entries as part of the monthly and quarterly close process.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and assist with forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather data for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Analyze and maintain high-priority accounts and support the preparation of financial packages.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data by understanding end-to-end transactional flows.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
  • Maintain and update accounting process documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
  • Respond to general accounting inquiries and support cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as needed.
  • Handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism.
