REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-3 years of warranty and insurance experience in the auto industry required
  • Knowledge of ASC 606 required
  • Experience in statutory reporting (yellow book or blue book) and/or journalizing underwriting activity required
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams)
Responsibilities

American Guardian Warranty Services, Inc. (AGWS), an affiliate of Reynolds and Reynolds, is looking for a Senior Accountant - Automotive Warranty to join our growing team. As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for developing, improving, and streamlining accounting processes and internal financial controls and procedures. You will perform monthly financial and operational closes for reporting, planning, forecasting, analytics, trusted financial advisors, reinsurance functions, and ad-hoc deliverables.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
-Support the day-to-day operation, performing routine to complex accounting functions with journal entries and providing necessary data and support to team.
-Assists in month end closes by performing higher-level variance analysis, reconciliations, automating and documenting processes, and other various ad-hoc reporting tasks.
-Lead in assisting with internal and external audits, compiling financial footnotes, statutory reporting (insurance, and other duties as assigned).
-Lead in directing and training accounting assistants with departmental functions, including teamwork and collaboration.
-Assist accounting and support staff in daily related functions, month end tasks, and lead in special projects, as assigned.
