Job Summary The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for Payroll and Benefits accounting within the Corporate Accounting department, including other specific accounting tasks relating to Accounts Payable. That’s why we give you a wide range of benefits to choose from.  All regular full time employees may enroll in a variety of health and welfare plans including medical, dental and vision plans.  Other benefits include life insurance, disability coverage, employee assistance program, and retirement program.  The company also has a variety of voluntary benefits for employees to choose from.Responsibilities Maintain detailed accounting records to support all payroll, pensions and benefits balances to ensure accuracy of financial statements Work collaboratively with Payroll, Benefits, AP & Risk Management departments to investigate and develop standard procedures for handling and reconciling transactions Prepare monthly account reconciliations and analyses relating to account activity and accrual requirements relating to payroll, pension, and benefits Work closely with the Accounting Manager and Accounting Director and assist with the month-end closing process Reconcile AP accounts and assist in the clearing of open GRIR accounts Properly execute controls to ensure compliance with JSOX Education Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field from a 4-year accredited institutionRequirements/Qualifications Payroll accounting experience is preferred SAP experience in a manufacturing environment Knowledge of GAAP, FASB and IFRS reporting standards Demonstrated analytical skills, especially in complex reconciliation functions Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word Conditions of Employment Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
