Job Description

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • CPA designation with a focus on U.S. GAAP.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years post-qualification experience.
  • Big Four accounting firm experience an asset
  • Industry experience in Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS), reinsurance, and/or investment funds.
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: accounting, financial/regulatory reporting, valuations, collateral management, treasury, or forecasting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Advantageous: Familiarity with SICs NT and PowerBI.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, accurate work.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, strong decision-making, and high ethical standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with both internal and external stakeholders and service providers.
  • Proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiencies.
    Additional Information
Responsibilities
  • Support the ILS Controller with month-end and quarter-end valuations and financial reporting for third-party investment vehicles (e.g., investment funds, reinsurance sidecar).
  • Manage expenses, budgeting, and accounts payable processes.
  • Monitor and manage collateral accounts, cashflows, and investments.
  • Liaise with third-party service providers, including fund administrators, insurance managers, trust banks, corporate banks, and valuation service providers.
  • Assist with operationalizing investor mandates and monitoring mandate compliance.
  • Partner with the COO and Legal & Compliance to ensure financial and operational policies and controls are aligned with best practices and applicable regulations.
  • Provide internal stakeholders with financial performance and capital position reporting and forecasts for PCM.
  • Support external audits and ensure readiness for all investment vehicles.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reporting as required for all investment vehicles.
  • Contribute to materials and participate in investor presentations, pitches, and operational due diligence.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Retro Finance, Retro Operations, Reserving, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Risk.
