We are seeking an experienced, proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant (CFDs / Derivatives) to join our Finance team. In this key role, you will contribute to the efficient operation of the department by overseeing Group Controllership tasks and managing the AU payroll function. You will play a vital part in maintaining financial integrity through rigorous daily reconciliations, compliance reporting, and supporting the month-end close process. This is a great opportunity for an experienced accountant to step into a high-impact role within a collaborative, fast-paced fintech environment where you will support both daily operations and strategic finance projects. Key Responsibilities: Review daily client funds, trust accounts, and payment gateway balance reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy and completeness of daily client balances, which requires a solid knowledge of CFD and clients’ money handling. Ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations within a multi-jurisdictional setting, including ASIC (Aus) and SCB (Bahamas) reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with financial obligations for licenses held by Eightcap, including those set by ASIC (Aus) and the SCB (Bahamas), maintaining financial integrity and transparency Managing month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of complex journals such as R&D, AL & LSL accruals, intercompany transfer pricing recharge and reconciliations and reviewing junior team members’ work. Preparing and lodging Business Activity Statements (BAS) ensuring compliance with Australian taxation requirements. Managing end-to-end payroll processing, including superannuation, payroll tax, and statutory compliance obligations. Assisting with audit processes and preparation of statutory financial reports of Aus and Bahamas legal entities. Monitoring and managing cash flow and funding requirements across multiple financial platforms. Maintain a high standard of internal control that complies with corporate policies and procedures, multiple local processes and local external requirements Involvement in and conducting adhoc projects for example, finance transformation, in house reconciliation tools, simplification projects and the like. Provide guidance and coaching to Accountants in the business group to foster professional growth and ensure a collaborative and skilled finance team. Support a high-performance operating culture throughout the global organization which emphasizes the customers, teamwork, external focus and personal accountability. Relevant tertiary education. CPA/CA qualification. Strong accounting knowledge and comprehensive experience in controllership and technical accounting. Strong ability to interpret and analyse the impact of GL and finance data. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to manage various stakeholders. A self-starter with a hands-on approach, capable of managing tasks and adapting to change in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in FX, CFD, or Trading organizations is highly regarded; experience in fintech or financial services is essential. Demonstrated experience or aptitude for team mentoring and coaching.
