Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team!
The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for managing and supporting various Area accounting functions, including maintaining internal controls, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires analytical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Ability to convey complex financial concepts in an understandable manner to non-financial colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, team and organizational budgets, and actual expenditures.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance compliance with policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Oversee and support fixed asset accounting, including the development and implementation of related policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial and accounting regulations.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present corporate financial documents, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Handle and coordinate the preparation of tax returns.
  • Analyze, document, and report on corporate financial data.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with third-party tax and audit firms.
