POSITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA preferred, but not required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Intermediate to Advanced command of Microsoft Office, including Excel (vlookups, hlookup, sumif, pivot tables, macros, etc.)
  • ERP: Experience with NetSuite (Preferred, but not required)
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As Senior Accountant, you will work with the accounting team to prepare timely accurate financial statements. To include recording daily sales, weekly bank reconciliations and monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts. Year-end compilation of financial statements with required footnotes for external auditors. Lease accounting, licensing compliance and various other duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and analysis of financial statements to ensure the accuracy of general ledger coding and adjust as necessary
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts including, but not limited to: cash, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and gift and loyalty cards
  • Oversee lease accounting according to ASC 842 lease accounting standards
  • Review and prepare monthly Sales and Use tax and quarterly Commercial Activity Tax filings
  • Daily review and posting of restaurant sales into the ERP
  • Preparation of various journal entries with proper support
  • Assist with implementation of new initiatives, policies, and software solutions
  • Assist with compilation of annual audited financials with required footnote disclosures
  • Scanning, filing, and maintenance of accounting documents, records, and reports
  • Communication with outside departments as necessary to answer questions and resolve issues
