POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Our ideal candidates are those who possess not only the technical skills required for accounting but also a passion for finance and a keen eye for detail. Your academic background and professional certifications in accounting will be the foundation of your role within our team.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified accountant – ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
  • Practice or Audit experience, or experience in a control focused Financial Accounting role
  • Good level of application and system knowledge (any experience of Oracle, Blackline, Power Bi – advantageous but not essential).

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for planning and running the end-to-end technical accounting and controls processes for corporate accounting and the CUK finance team. The role covers a broad range of areas and will support our control agenda, including SOX, as well as technical accounting projects. You’ll be a key interface into Corporate, the wider CUK finance team and our external auditors, leading and co-ordinating the deliverables for external reporting.
This is a great position for a Qualified Accountant, providing the opportunity to own the Financial Accounting processes and gain visibility through collaboration with key stakeholders across Carnival UK and the Corporation”

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Planning and reviewing accounting processes to ensure timely, complete, and accurate financial information, including operation of effective journal and balance sheet processes
  • Ensure financial control is maintained across the control universe including SOX compliance, to ensure that controls are appropriately designed to address the risks in place, in an efficient fashion
  • Develop strong relationships within finance and the wider business as appropriate to role
  • Lead for the communication and co-ordination of deliverables with the external auditors.
  • Lead Corporate and Regulatory Accounting reporting projects with a control focus.
