Job Description 1. Project & Job Cost Accounting Record and manage full-cycle accounting. Prepare and review Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports. Ensure accurate revenue recognition under IFRS 15. Track retention receivables and payables. Review subcontractor progress payments and certifications. Monitor budgets and track cost variances. Maintain proper documentation for transactions. 2. Financial Reporting Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements. Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities. Maintain general ledger and perform balance sheet reconciliations. Provide project profitability and margin analysis reports to management. 3. Tax & Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with Qatar tax regulations. Prepare and file Corporate Income Tax returns. Manage Withholding Tax (WHT) compliance for foreign vendors. Liaise with the General Tax Authority (GTA) when required. Maintain documentation for tax assessments and audits. 4. Billing & Receivables Track progress billing and client invoicing. Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on collections. Reconcile customer accounts and manage retention balances. 5. Payables & Cash Flow Process supplier and subcontractor invoices. Verify LPOs, delivery notes, and payment certificates. Prepare and review payment vouchers and payment schedules. Make timely payments via bank transfers, cheques, or WPS. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. Assist in cash flow planning. Monitor bank balances, facilities and guarantees. 6. Internal Controls & Audit Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls. Support external and internal audit processes. Improve accounting procedures and ERP system utilization. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / CMA) preferred. 5–10 years of accounting experience, with minimum 3–5 years in construction sector. Strong knowledge of IFRS and construction contract accounting. Hands-on experience with TAX in Qatar. Experience in ERP systems Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, financial models). Experience handling bank guarantees and performance bonds is an advantage.
