Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain general ledger account reconciliations while ensuring proper documentation.
  • Prepare and post journal entries and perform general ledger maintenance tasks.
  • Examine revenue, margin, and expenditures to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure the precision of financial information in SAP and address any discrepancies.
  • Seek out SAP-driven opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Participate in the creation and review of forecasts and budgets.
  • Handle fixed asset accounting, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
  • Assist with tax filings, including GST/HST, income tax, and payroll remittances.
  • Produce timely operating statements, management reports, and account reconciliations on schedule.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls and automate processes wherever possible.
  • Conduct monthly variance analysis, investigate discrepancies, and suggest process improvements.
  • Generate inventory reports and calculate inventory provision in accordance with company policy.
  • Spearhead the development of annual audit working papers.
  • Provide support for customer accounts and collection activities.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of local Canadian accounting standards and tax experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP
  • Manufacturing with inventory experience is ideal
